Seb Bouin on ACL 9b, Pic Saint-Loup, France

Sébastien Bouin is known for his impressive ascents of some of the world's most hardest routes. In April 2023, at his home crag of Pic Saint-Loup, Bouin completed the first ascent of "Ariégeois Cœur Loyal" (ACL), a 9b (5.15b) route he bolted over five years prior in memory of his grandfather, whose nickname as a Compagnon du Devoir was "Ariégeois Cœur Loyal." This climb holds special significance for Bouin, as it pays homage to his family's heritage and his personal connection to the area.
